The city of San Leo stands on a large impassable rock, at an altitude of 583 meters. It is located about 30 km from Rimini and can be reached by car and / or bus via the highway 258.
The marvelous village of San Leo can only be accessed through a narrow road carved into the rock; you will seem to be suspended on a magnificent natural landscape.
Interesting for adults and children is the visit to the Fort, with the numerous rooms dedicated to weapons, tools of torture used during the Inquisition period, the prisons where the Count of Cagliostro and Felice Orsini were locked up, the exhibits of tools used by alchemists and doctors of the medieval and renaissance age.
San Leo is worth to be visited also and above all for the panorama it offers; from the Fort the view is wonderful, the surrounding mountains with the wild nature up to the sea. From Monte San Severino it is also possible to take off with a paraglider to enjoy the natural beauty of our land from above.
I visited for you the city of San Leo with my friend Gioia and I advise everyone to lose half a day of beach to take a walk through history, art, nature …. maybe close the visit with a good glass of Sangiovese and a sandwich with salami, ham or mortadella produced in our area!
